We haven’t been racing at all recently. Not many team rides either, just life. Everyone is super busy, different reason, family, kids, work, but you might catch us out there commuting on a Brompton, doing laps on road bikes, the occasional track session, solo gravel ride, etc.

Big shout out to those that continue to support us, allowing us to have fun on two wheels.

This month, nearly eight years ago, we announced the birth of #5THNYC, a small group of friends who shared a passion for riding and racing and prioritized camaraderie over results.

Today, it is with sadness that we announce the end of the New York City chapter of The 5th Floor. Thank you to all past and present members, sponsors, supporters, and followers over the years. Heres’s some last words from NYC captain @angelocalilap:

“From Prospect Park races to the Pyrenees and everywhere in between, it’s impossible to put into words what this team has meant and continues to mean to me. It might be the end of an era, but the memories will last forever. The bike can take you to places you could never imagine, and it’s that much better when it’s with your good friends who you consider family.

Our aim with creating this team was always to share our journey with our followers to inspire people to hop on a bike — any bike and feel what we felt when we’re on two wheels, from the smiles to the suffering. In the end, if what we’ve shared, experienced, and accomplished individually and/or collectively did just that — inspire you to ride your bike — then it was all worthwhile.”

Gravel and off-road riding has been a much needed escapism for many of us last year. In the UK, we’re blessed with miles of bridleways that criss-cross our countryside and normal road routes.
