I know this is a little dated but I just came upon it. I did a trip somewhat like this in the spring. Although I too live in Brooklyn, I chose to take the train up to Albany first. I rode from there to Montreal then to Acadia National park in Maine. After years of touring your list of things you lost is quite humorous. My favorite is the lost love of cycling. Everytime I’m on a trip I think about how I’m in good shape and can’t wait to get home and keep that going, then I get home and the last thing I want to see if a bike. Bicycle touring is definitely something that has both lows and highs and can’t be understood why you’d put yourself through all of them until you’ve done it. This is definitely a tour I’ll do again, I’m working on adding a Lake Champlain to Montreal Tour to the catalog of my touring company so hopefully it’ll be a regular trip I take. It’s a beautiful area, it’s cool to see someone else’s photos from it.
Hey thanks a lot for the comments Sean, your absoluely spot on in everything you say. I can home anticipating blowing up the local race scene but the last thing i wanted to do was ride and i think i traded off the tour to justify beer for the next month haha.
Keep us up to date with your tour company too!
