Heading to Woodstock for a bi-annual training camp is quickly becoming a 5th NYC tradition.
This year it felt even more important to unite the team with new member Rich and a number of injuries as well as start reminding the legs that the calendar of races would not submit to even the harshest of winters.

We headed up on Thursday night with the anticipation of 3 days of the Catskills finest roads ahead. Nik,
unable to ride due to the current rehab of a back injury had briefed us on what the 3 days were to hold.

Nik was indeed the hostest with the mostest, the quality of the roads and routes were matched only by the quality of his cooking and we savored both to the full.

Regardless of race or personal priorities 9 from our 13 were there over the 3 days contributing to the team through their presence, skill behind the lens, pans or handlebars.

The summit in reach,
though still defiant.

The legs scream out, yet the road is silent.

Winter is entrenched, issues another test.

Breath turns to ice, and stabs at the chest.

With one last attack, we add to the scars.

Small badges of honor, and cheers from our Czar!

The mountain tops out, not without attrition.

We slump from the effort, bent into submission.

A kamp in the Catskills, to strengthen a core.

Through miles and suffering, with the 5th Floor.
