This Sunday the Olympic Test event, was held in preparation for 2012 Olympics, and the 2011 TDF green jersey winner, Mark Cavendish,
won the race.

But this post is not about Mark’s victory, it is about the ES article I saw in the Sport section of yesterday’s ES. The article was written by Dan Jones,  a very ignorant columnist.

I just wanted to point out a few quotes from the article, such as the (racist) headline, “Road cycling is an odd sport… no wonder the French find it so enjoyable” , which was also in full sentence again later in the article, “Road cycling is an odd sport. It places much inconvenience on spectators and gives back only fleeting seconds of entertainment, in which it is largely impossible to work out what the hell is going on. It’s quite perverse. No wonder the French like it so much.”, and then another stupid phrase by Dan Jones, which was mentioned in the first paragraph, “It is often said that London’s cyclists think they own the bloody road.” Read the whole article here.

Cyclists in London/UK are not respected as they should be because of people like Dan Jones and it is a shame to read an article about an event that happened recently and seeing comments, likes the one above, that has nothing to do with the article itself.

In the other hand, Congratulations to Mark Cavendish.
Gutted I was not in London to watch this race.
