Were fortunate to be getting some props off the people from grip and width which is perfect for fixed freestyle and im currently running aero warriors. The exciting thing in this package is the Fix- G Hub available in 32, 36 and 48 hole!
It seems to us that there is a splined standard option for which we already have some cogs, and thereby avoids the threaded cog and lockring issues. it is, of course, the HG spline format.
The Halo Fix-G hub features a fixed HG spline machined as part of the alloy main hub body, with a conventional internal thread for a standard HG type lockring (with easy tool fittings) + options L/H side for conventional fixed or freewheel threads.
A major part of the hub’s design is to (easily) allow the rider to have the ability to alter their chainline for optimum performance. Using the spacers included the rider has multiple chainline choices. A better chainline will obviously allow the drivetrain to run smoother.
The HG spline side also facilitates the use of much smaller cogs than a traditional fixed thread hub – as low as 12t – which is in line with the current trend in fixed freestyle riding where riders prefer “micro-drive” set-ups similar to those being used in BMX.
Its good to see Peter has already got his 5th spoke card in there and i’m looking forward to a full review from him. Thanks Halo and I.D!!
